Dear Sir or Madam,
I understand that approximately 4000 children give birth each year
(girls under the age of 16).
Can you tell me how many 'fathers' of these babies are prosecuted
for the clear and aparantly unchallengeable offence of having had
sex with a minor?
Can you also tell me what action is taken to trace these fathers,
what considerations are made when deciding whether to prosecute and
how those 'considerations' are valid with in the law?
Finally can you tell me what proportion of these babies are raised
using tax payer funded benefits other than child benefit.
