Dear Mrs Pook,
You told me in March 2010 that Mr Redmond claimed/incurred a total
of £8,263 in expenses in the year 06/07. However, you told Mr
Carruthers in January 2009 that Mr Redmond claimed/incurred a total
of £25,507 in expenses in the year 06/07. The difference in the two
answers is £17,244. Do you have an explanation for this
discrepancy?
Please note that you previously did a very similar thing with the
figures for Mr White's expenses for 06/07 in response to Mr Price
in 2009. The discrepancy there amounted to £13,979. It appears that
the figures given in answer to FOI requests by the Commission are
completely unreliable, or worse.
Yours sincerely,
Angela Mayall

I wish I could get away with using such an excuse when caught breaking the law. What about all those people who have been fined by councils because they mistakenly put the wrong rubbish in the wrong bin. Why can't they use a similar same pathetic excuse?
