Dear Mr Willis
Re. Details of Chief Executive Expenses for last 12 months
I apologise for the delay in providing you with a full response, however I
shall be obliged if you will define what you mean by expenses. The Council
have, for example, twinning arrangements with other Councils abroad. This
involves senior officers and Elected Members in visiting with the twinned
Councils and, in turn, this is reciprocated. The payment for such events
comes from a specific Council budget.
I perceive expenses relative to the Chief Executive and those who
immediately report to her to be of the nature of travel and subsistence,
i.e. including such items as car allowances, telephone allowances, public
transport reimbursement, and perhaps staying in hotels on Council business
where the cost is reimbursed.
I want to comply with your request in as accurate a manner as possible and
therefore your early response to this e-mail would be appreciated. Quite
simply can you please provide a detailed definition of the information
that you are seeking.
Regards
Sheila Mawdsley
