Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing in relation to expenses claimed by
councillors within your area and wish to apply for a full
disclosure of the following information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000:

1. An inventory of all expenses claimed by each councillor,
including the Mayor, within the last financial year (2007/08). I
would ask that this includes the date, venue, nature of the
conference/visit, cost of travel, cost of subsistence, all other
associated costs. I would also request a full disclosure of
expenses and allowances associated with travelling to meetings.

For guidance, I have discovered Belfast City Council publishes a
detailed breakdown of all expenses claimed by its members, which
can be accessed at:

request a similar, detailed disclosure regarding your area.

The Freedom of Information Act came into force on January 1 2005
and establishes a legal right of access to information which is
held by public authorities. I believe the full disclosure of the
above material is in the public interest. I would therefore request
a full disclosure in line with the aforementioned act within the
