Please list the 40 highest paid posts at Hastings Borough Council
and specify the annual salary and the hours in respect of each
post. Where an individual holds more than one post and the
individual's aggregate salary totals more than the the 41st highest
paid post, please provide details of each post held by the
individual and the salary and hours for each of the individual's
posts. Please include in the above information (in addition to
employees of the Council) all contract or agency staff where the
post has lasted or is expected to last more than 6 months.

Please note:
Hours are contracted hours and actual hours worked are usually
significantly more. Additional hours worked are not remunerated.
Remuneration comprises salary, telephone allowances, plusages, standby
payments, value of lease car, and returning officer fees.
We are not prepared to release remuneration details for any post other
than that of the Chief Executive.
We are not prepared to release post names and corresponding postholder
names for post levels below that of Heads of Service.
We believe this approach accords with relevant guidance and Decisions
Notices issued by the Office of the Information Commissioner in that we
regard the information in question to be exempt information under S40(2)
of the Freedom of Information Act because that information is personal
data the disclosure of which would contravene the data protection
principles set out in the Data Protection Act 1998 and that the exemption
conferred under s40(2) is an absolute exemption.

There is no budget deficit - the 2009/10 budget is balanced.
