for the same year for Staffs County Council employees.

Thank you for providing the pension information.

However, in my original request was to understand how much money
was spent by Staffordshire County Counctil on external contractors
and consultants. In my own business I have a separate account code
for making such payments as is standard accountancy practice
(GAAP). Please provide the information as requested.

It appears extremely difficult for the council to answer the question of how much it has spent on external contractors and consultants. If a Council cannot account for all its expenditure then how can it determine if it provides a good service?

accounts could not extract the level of detail requested within the
statutory cost ceiling.

What we would be able to provide to the requestor is a list of all the
vendors that we've paid in 2009/10 and the total value of the payments to
them.

Dear Stibbs, Lian (L&G),

From my original request I asked for a list of payments to
contractors, consultants and third parties and what projects they
delivered. I would like both the information in terms of payment
and projects to be supplied. Regarding the list of vendors as
offered in the FOI reply, that would satisfy half of the request,
with the other half relating to projects, not referenced.

list of vendors and any payments made to them would suffice. Please
could you clarify if this is not the case? As previously explained, it
is estimated that we would not be able to provide the details of
projects worked on within the statutory cost ceiling. Therefore, if you
confirm that you still require this data this part of the request is
likely to be refused.
