Dear Sir or Madam,
Dear Sir or Madam, Is it acceptable/legal, for a permanent
exclusion of a pupil from a school to be rescinded and for the
pupil to then be removed from the school's roll and never be
allowed to return to that school. If so, how long is the deadline
for the pupil to be returned to another mainstream school?
Yours faithfully,
Ian Stewart

Dear Ian,
Thank you for your request.
It is neither acceptable or legal for a permanent exclusion of a pupil
from a school to be rescinded and for the pupil to then be removed from
the school's roll and never be allowed to return to that school.
The only occasions when a permanent exclusion would be rescinded is in the
event of an appeal by for instance the parents of the pupil concerned or
in the event of the school making a mistake. In both these cases official
procedures would be followed.
Pupils are never removed from schools rolls unless an alternative school
has been found.
I hope this answers your question.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require information about
