Dear Sir or Madam,
Neills Hill Railway Station is a disused station on the old Belfast
& County Down Railway (BCDR) at Sandown Road, Belfast. Built in
1890 and closed in 1950, it had a subway which was filled in during
the early 1960's.
Eventually, during 2003 / 2004, Farrans Ltd undertook work on the
Knock Valley Relief Sewer (KVRS) for the DOE Water Service. When
Farrans Ltd reached the site of the Neills Hill subway, work had to
stop as Water Service had 'protracted' discussions with Road
Services as Road Services wished to create a 'walkway' after the
sewer was laid. Farrans advise that these discussions may have
delayed that part of the project.
May I have copies of all discussion notes, letters, photographs,
reports or otherwise relating to the issue of the Neills Hill
subway.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Yours faithfully,
Gavin Bamford
