Dear Sir or Madam,
Your Department is currently producing plans to build the Eway on
the old track-bed of the Belfast & County Down Railway (BCDR) out
of Belfast towards Dundonald.
Are you aware that there are still remnants of the Neills Hill
railway station still in existence some 58 years following closure
i.e.: a platform on one side? These remnants are the old piece of
the former BCDR still in existence along the Eway route.
Can you advise if there are any plans to repair and retain any of
these platforms at Neills Hill station?
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
Yours faithfully,
Gavin Bamford

" ...... The next stage in the project subject to Ministerial and Executive approval will be the detailed design which will include the exact alignment of the various routes and the location of individual halts.
As Neill’s Hill station is located on one of the proposed routes for Rapid Transit its future will be considered at this stage and the final route will be subject to public consultation.
