EU Commissioners Are Acting Unlawfully

John Walker made this Freedom of Information request to Foreign and Commonwealth Office

The request was successful.

From: John Walker

18 November 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

"Every EU Commissioner bar one is now acting unlawfully, having
come to the end of their fixed five-year mandate on 31 October
2009. Only the president, Portuguese former prime minister
Jose-Manuel Barroso, has been re-appointed.

All the rest have no authority to remain in place, and are now
acting ultra vires."

http://www.ashleymote.co.uk/?p=1714

1. Is the FCO still dealing with any of those EU commissioners who
are illegally in place?

2. If so, which commissioners?

3. When will the FCO stop dealing with those commissioners who are
acting ultra vires?

Please supply copies of appropriate policy documentation.

Yours faithfully,

John Walker
