Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to know what research was done regarding the car
scrappage scheme announced in the last budget. I am particularly
interested in the projected envirnomental impact of the scheme, as
it has been reported that in some quarters there is a view that
scrapping these cars and replacing them with new vehicles has a
significantly negative environmental impact, as opposed to keeping
the old cars running for longer, and replacing them in the future.
Yours faithfully,
Paul Perrin
