Dear Mr Fenwick,
Thank you for your request for information received on 7 October 2009.
1. We manage 58 allotment sites which contain 2314 allotment plots.
2. Each site is managed by an Allotment Association and they hold the waiting list for that site. The length of the waiting list depends on the popularity of the site, and our research shows that there is an average of 8 people on each waiting list.
3. Due to the current demand for allotments there are no vacant plots on most sites. There are some long standing vacancies at St Anthony's allotments which are so overgrown they are proving difficult to let and as there are a number of other sites in the area, demand here is lower.
