Dear Ms Higgins,
Request for Information in term of the Freedom of Information Act
Enquiry Subject: Finance
Case. Ref. 101002286265
I refer to your request for information dated 09/11/2009. Additional funding for disabled children's services.
The Barnett Formula consequentials due to Scotland as a result of HM Treasurys announcement of £34m to support families with disabled children in connection with the report Aiming High for Disabled Children, were included within the overall Scottish Budget resulting from the Comprehensive Spending Review 2007 Settlement, and were not hypothecated. There was no specific allocation in this respect within the government grant funding allocated to councils, as part of the local government finance settlement covering the periods 2008/09 and 2009/10. Therefore I am unable to provide a specific response to your request.
If you have any complaint about the Council's handling of your request for information, you may require the Council to review its actions and decisions in relation to this response. Please write, within 40 working days from 01/12/09, to Gordon Blair, Chief Legal Officer, West Lothian Civic Centre, Howden South Road, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 6FF (01506 281695; e-mail: [email address]).
You may, within a further six months, if your are dissatisfied with the outcome or with the Council's failure to review its actions and decisions in relation to this response, apply in writing to the Scottish Information Commissioner, Kinburn Castle, Doubledykes Road, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 9DS (01334 464610; email [email address]) requesting his decision in this matter.

Hi Kate,
The response I made was in relation to FOI request: 101002286267 -
Additional Support for Learning.
You have another request with West Lothian Council which is 101002286268
and this relates to Employment of Classroom Assistants.
Unfortunately the classroom assistant request is not something that
Finance Services can help with however this request has been assigned to
our HR department and I will make them aware that you are looking for a
response.
However in the mean time it would be appreciated if you could update the
whatdotheyknow.com website to reflect that a response has been provided
for the additional support for learning request and that this was not an
overdue request.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards
Ailsa.
