Dear Sir or Madam,
Please disclose copies of all emails sent from '@bbc.co.uk' email
addresses to Christopher Graham, Information Commissioner, and all
emails received by '@bbc.co.uk' email addresses from Christopher
Graham, Information Commissioner.
I believe this should be a relatively straightforward task for your
IT department, and should certainly not take 18 hours/£450.
Yours faithfully,
Fred Ormerod

Dear FOI Enquiries,
Unless the BBC are using a bizarre email client, I cannot see how
it would take in excess of 18 hours for an IT person to search for
incoming messages from Christopher Graham's email address.
From personal experience, the IT department at my own public
authority were able to search for all emails received by their
servers from a particular email address within 1 working day.
Having spoken to the IT person concerned, he said it was a simple
case of entering the email address and clicking 'search'.
However, for the time being I take up your offer of reducing the
scope of my request to cover those potential recipients stated in
your response.
Yours sincerely,
Fred Ormerod

However they can't count time spent doing that when considering the time limit.

Somebody marked this as 'rejected'. I have updated the status as the thread contains an amended request, a response to which I am still awaiting.

It helps the WDTK tracking work properly if you start a fresh request in situations like this - that way the deadline is calculated properly.
Fred Ormerod left an annotation (23 November 2009)
Hi Ganesh, I appreciate that that's the case - but given that the BBC's offer to reduce the scope was in the response, I felt it simpler to continue this chain.
Thanks,
F
