Dear Sir or Madam,
Please can you tell me:
- How many comments about clinical services has the Your Thoughts
section of NHS Choices received in the year since launch?
- How many were published on the site and how many rejected, and
for what reasons?
- What was the total cost of moderating the Your Thoughts section
of NHS Choices for the year since launch?
Yours faithfully,

Dear Ms Young,
Thank you for your email of 23 July requesting, under the Freedom of
Information Act, information about the number of comments about
clinical services received through the Your Thoughts section of the NHS
Choices website; the number of comments published and rejected, and the
cost of moderating the site. Your email has been passed to me for
reply.
5,207 comments on clinical services have been received through the Your
Thoughts section of NHS Choices since the launch of the website. Of
this total, 1,226 comments were rejected and 3,981 published. The
rejected comments were disallowed because they broke one or more of the
moderation policy rules which are listed on the patient feedback
section on NHS Choices. A copy of these rules can be accessed through
the following link:
[1]www.nhs.uk/Commentspolicy/Pages/Comments%20on%20articles.aspx.
The total moderation costs of the NHS Choices service for the year
since launch is £107,000, of which an element contributes to the Your
Thoughts section.
I hope this reply is helpful.
If you have any queries about this email, please contact me. Please

I think the rejected ones would be the most interesting as they could be followed up to find the root of the problem and try to resolve which doesn't happen with PALS or the questionable COMPLAINTS . It assumes everyone who works in the NHS s an angel and while the cats away the mice won't play.
