From: Jing

Dear UK Border Agency,
I would like to request below information under Freedom of
Information:
1. How do EEA2 & EEA4 caseworkers handle each application?;
2. What are the procedures involved in order to establish all
statutory requirements for the application are met?;
3. Since UKBA introduced an initial assessment on receipt of
applications submitted under European Legislation to ensure the
validity of the same on 1st June 2009, has it affected how
caseworkers handle each application?
4. Who are responsible for the initial assessment for each
application?
5. How does UKBA allocate applications to each caseworker after
initial assessment?
6. How many caseworkers currently working for EEA2 & EEA4
applications?
7. What is current average processing time for EEA2 & EEA4
applications since 1st June 2009?
8. I understand that as of 8th December 2009, there were 39,859
applications remained in the EEA case backlog. I am sure UKBA is
taking measures to ensure that all cases will be within service
level agreements by March 2010. Could you please give me an update
with regards to the backlog cases as it’s now end of February 2010?
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Jing Costa
