Education Counsellors Supporting Pupils in Education Information

C McEwan made this Freedom of Information request to Braintree District Council

Braintree District Council did not have the information requested.

From: C McEwan

5 June 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

1. Does your Local Authority presently employ Education
Counsellors* (rather than ‘buying in’ such a service from an
external provider)?

2. If the answer to Question 1 is ‘yes’, please state for each
Education Counsellor employed by the Local Authority:

• Whether they have been deemed to be eligible to join the Teachers
Pension Scheme and

• The date when they joined the Teachers Pension Scheme

• Whether they are employed on Teachers Terms and Conditions of
Employment

3. If your Local Authority does not presently employ Education
Counsellors have they done so in the past?

4. If the answer to Question 3 is ‘yes’, please state for each
School Counsellor employed by the Local Authority since 31 March
2004:

• Whether they were deemed to be eligible to join the Teachers
Pension Scheme and

• When they joined the Teachers Pension Scheme

* Education Counsellors meaning those employed to support pupils in
education

Yours faithfully,

C McEwan

Two prizes of £100 - take part by Monday 23^rd November to enter the
prize draw

Dear Sir or Madam

I would like to invite you to take part in a special web questionnaire
about services where we are considering saving money. Click on this link
to open the survey [1]www.sharesim.arachsys.com/login/braintree.jsp

Balancing the council's budget is a tricky job. There is always a tough
trade-off between the standards we would like and the money available to
pay for them.

As you will know the next few years will see even less money available to
public services and so this exercise is really important to make sure we
know what's important to residents of the Braintree district.

This survey puts YOU in the driving seat. We have set out different
standards of some of the services we provide and we want you to choose
where you would prefer us to allocate the money.

We have kept things as simple as we can, but it is still a fairly complex
task involving options of 17 services so we suggest you only go to the
site to start this questionnaire when you have about 30 minutes available
to complete it.

We hope you enjoy completing this realistic, interesting and challenging
exercise and we would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to
take part.

Everyone who takes part in the exercise by Monday 23^rd November will be
entered into our prize draw to win one of two £100 cash prizes.

Thank you

Cllr. Graham Butland

Leader of Braintree District Council
