Dear Sir or Madam,
The Minister of State for borders and immigration Phil Woolas is
reported as saying; "Already e-Borders has screened over 75 million
passengers against immigration, customs and police watch-lists,
leading to over 2,700 arrests for crimes such as murder, rape and
assault."
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 would you please tell me
how many of those arrested had committed:
a) Murder?
b) Rape?
c) Assault?
And of those guilty of assault, what proportion had committed:
d) Grievous bodily harm?
e) Actual bodily harm?
f) Common assault?
Thank you for your attention.
Yours faithfully,
Neil Hood

Dear Sir or Madam,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's
handling of my FOI request 'eBorders detection of – murderers /
rapists / assaulters'.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/eb...
You have advised me that you do not hold the information I seek but
have accordingly advised me to contact: "the Association of Chief
Police Officers (ACPO) at the following address: [email address] "
Unfortunately, unless your attention is to make a person
crossed(!), providing a series of x's serves no useful function. Do
you have a full, correct address please? I will then be able to
redirect my question as you have suggested.
Yours sincerely,
Neil Hood

Home Office

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email. I am sorry that you have experienced this
difficulty with your request made of the UKBA under the Freedom of
Information Act. I note that in your latest email you have asked for an
internal review into the handling of your request. I further understand
that the basis for this request for a review is that in an attempt to
direct you to another public authority to answer your query, because we
(UKBA) do not hold the information you require, we have not given you the
information you need i.e. we have referred you to ACPO but given you the
email address [1][email address] to contact them.
I have looked at our original response and can assure you that the full
and correct e-mail address was in our original response dated 27/02/09 and
can only assume that the alteration to the email address was made in some
way by the `whatdotheyknow' website.
I attach below (again) the e-mail address for ACPO. If the website through
which you have made you request alters it again, please provide me with
your personal e-mail address and I will send it there.
[2][email address]
As the issue you have raised concerning the handling your request is not
one directly relating to the UKBA's handling of your request I do not
intend to treat this as a formal internal review under the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act.
I hope that the information above is of use to you, but please do not
hesitate to come back to me if you have any further problems.
Thank you
Ian Morris
