Dear Mr Figg

Further to your recent request, please find below details of Dog Fouling
Fixed Penalties issued by Christchurch Borough Council since October 2006.
Christchurch Council have not made any Dog Control Orders under the Clean
Neighbourhood and Environment Act 2005, however we do issue Fixed
Penalty Notices (FPN's) for Dog Fouling under the Dogs (Fouling of Land)
Act 1996.

FPN's

1st October 2006 - 30th September 2007 - 1 x FPN, (letter of appeal
sent to us, no reason to withdraw, subsequently paid)
1st October 2007 - 30th September 2008 - 1 x FPN, (paid)
1st October 2008 - 30th September 2009 - 2 x FPN's, (one unpaid now
with legal department awaiting further action and one contested not
withdrawn now with leagl department awaiting further action).

All FPN's were issued for the offence under section 3 of The Dogs (Fouling
of Land) Act 1996 of failing to remove forthwith dog faeces from land
designated under the Act by Christchurch Borough Council.

During the three periods we have had one contracted Dog Warden who
undertakes a joint Dog Control and Pest Control service for the Council.
During 2008 the Council employed some Civil Enforcement Officers who
as part of their role can also issue Dog Fouling Fixed Penalties.
Currently there are 7 CEO's.

I hope this information answers your questions.

Regards
