Nick Henderson made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Communities and Local Government
Waiting for an internal review by Department for Communities and Local Government of their handling of this request.
From: Nick Henderson
25 January 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to see any documents relating to same sex marriage -
specifically those that concern the debates or decisions of
ministers or civil servants to legislate for civil partnerships
rather than same sex marriage.
Yours faithfully,
Nick Henderson

Dear Enquiries GEO,
In light of your reply, I am happy to refine my request to cover
the following:
Minutes of meetings held before March 31st, 2004, from the relevant
unit where the legislation was led from, where the issue or concept
of same sex marriage was discussed
Respecting the £600 limit, I would be happy if I could recieve the
earliest possible minutes from what is outlined above, and then all
following minutes of meetings up untill the £600 limit has been
exhausted.
Could you also advise me if you are now able to take this new
request forward, or if I should submit a new FOI request to the
Equalities Office?
Yours sincerely,
Nick Henderson

Thank you for your email refining your original request. You do not need to make a further request.
I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. You can expect a reply therefore by 19 March unless I need to come back to you to clarify your request or the balance of the public interest test needs to be considered.
If you have any queries about this , please contact me. Please remember to quote the reference number FOI000015 in any future communications.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Department for
Communities and Local Government's handling of my FOI request
'Documents relating to same sex marriage'.
By law my response was due by 23rd February, the department
notified me that I would recieve a response by 19th March. I was
happy to allow more time to the 19th March after the request was
transferred from the Equalities office to the Dept for Communities
and Local Goverment, and was happy to refine my request as you will
see to work within the terms of the Act.
It is now 20th May and I have recieved no response from you for
this FOI request. I believe you are now in breach of the law.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
