Dear Independent Police Complaints Commission,
In relation to changes coming into effect in April 2010, employment
tribunals will now forward copies of employment tribunal claims to
the IPCC which relate to whistleblowing and police officers/police
staff.
Can you please provide any relevant documentation in relation to
policy / procedures as to how the IPCC is going to deal with these
public interest disclosures.
Yours faithfully,
Independent Police Support Group

Dear Mrs Sewell,
Re: Your request
Thank you for your email dated 13th March 2010, which you make a request
for
information which I now confirm receipt of.
I would like to inform you that there will be a delay in responding to
your request.
The reason for this delay is because the IPCC has over recent months
seen an increase
in the number of information requests it receives and this has in effect
caused a
delay in responding to requests.
I would like to assure you that your request is being processed and once
a decision
has been finalised you will be contacted. I would like to apologies for
the delay and
hope that this does not cause you any inconvenience.
Yours sincerely

Dear Phil Johnston,
Thank you for your response. This is quite important new
legislation where disclosures will now be forwarded to the IPCC
from Employment Tribunals relating to police cases.
Can you advise whether I should reword the request to include any
documentation concerning this subject.
Best wishes
Yours sincerely,
Independent Police Support Group

My enquiries in connection with your request confirmed that the IPCC
holds no information relating to, or arising from, this Statutory
Instrument (The Employment Tribunals (Constitution and Rules of
Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 No. 131) or the IPCC's functions
in relation to it. As you may be aware the IPCC, as one of the listed
Regulators, was listed as a consultee for the draft legislation but no
related correspondence could be traced. Therefore, there is no
documentation concerning this subject.
