Dear Stockport Borough Council,
Please let me have any documents held by the Council with regards
to how my complaint against the Leader of the Council repeatedly
and publicly calling me a liar. I asked for evidence of any lies I
had inadvertently told, but none has been provided. Councillors are
not allowed to address each other in such terms in council
meetings, so why should a member of the public be treated in this
way? I have heard nothing since last September and I look forward
to receiving any documents showing how my complaint is currently
progressing through the Council's complaint system.
Yours faithfully,
Sheila Oliver

Dear Mrs Oliver,
I am writing in response to your request for information below (ref 2640).
As you are already aware from previous requests, personal data of the
applicant i.e. you in this case are exempt under section 40(1) Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (FOI Act). Information which constitutes your
personal data must be requested under the Data Protection Act 1998; this
is known as a subject access request. Further information on how to make
such requests is available in the Data Protection section of the Council
website. Please note subject access requests will not be dealt with via
the WhatDoTheyKnow website.
In addition to the above, you previously made a similar request in August
2009, following which we asked you to provide further information in order
to proceed with your request; this information was never provided by you
so it was assumed your request had been withdrawn. This was under
reference 2153.
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request you are
entitled to ask for an internal review. Any internal review will be
carried out by a senior member of staff who was not involved with your
original request. To ask for an internal review, contact
[1][email address] in the first instance.
If you are unhappy with the outcome of any internal review, you are
entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner. To do so, contact:

Dear Miss Naven
When I last asked the Council wanted a copy of my passport and £10.
I won't give the Council a copy of my passport following the
incident where the Council published my name, address and signature
up on the Council's website and was told in a full Council meeting
on a Thursday of the Data Protection breach but only removed my
name, address and signature the following Monday and then only
after the police and the Information Commission had been informed
of this breach of the law.
What I shall do is wait for the Monitoring Officer, Alison
Morrissey, to respond to my complaint and put up shall we say
monthly updates on this website so people can see exactly how long
it takes Stockport Council to deal with serious complaints. In my
experience they never do. As mentioned, we shall see how long it
takes Ms Morrissey, if she is, in fact, the Monitoring Officer, to
respond.
Kind regards
Sheila

Dear Stockport Borough Council,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Stockport Borough
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Disclosure of documents with
regards failure to deal with complaint'.
Please note that the Information Commission Team Leader has stated
to me in a letter dated 15/2/10:-
... "Notice relates specifically to the request you made on 1st
December 2008 and does not make any finding regarding future
requests. If you have made further requests and these have been
refused you should ask the Council to review their requests and if
following this review you remain unhappy with their response you
can bring a new complaint to the Commissioner."
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Dear Mrs Oliver,
Please clarify the grounds on which you are requesting an internal review
in this case (ref 2640). The Council informed you that the information you
are requesting should be dealt with under the Data Protection Act 1998 as
a subject access request and informed you how to make such a request. This
has nothing to do with the Decision Notice you are referring to below. Are
you disputing that the information you are requesting about yourself is
your personal data? Please clarify exactly which part of our response you
are asking to be reviewed.
Yours sincerely,
Claire Naven

Dear FOI Officer,
Since the far from impartial internal review process at Stockport
Council, the Council has been forced to disclose documents to a
public inquiry which show the entire site to be highly contaminated
and that £5 million in funding is not available, contrary to their
previous assertion - they only disclosed those facts after the ICO
ruling. The Information Commission has said twice that the Council
needs to answer questions on this subject. One has to wonder what
the Council has to hide. I shall make a complaint to the ICO about
this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Sheila Oliver
