Dear Royal Mail Group,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Royal Mail Group's
handling of my FOI request 'Discipline'.
I do not accept that this is personal data, and should be refused.
I believe many of the details I require can be provided without
compromising the Act. I do not require individuals to be identified
and believe redacted - or at least overall statistics - could be
released.
Furthermore, I believe Royal Mail has failed in its duty to
"provide advice and assistance" to those requesting information.
I expect Royal Mail to state what it could release or what may be
possible to release, rather than just applying the 'personal
information' exemption to everything.
I await your response and the information I have requested.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,
Adrian

Robert Whittaker left an annotation ( 2 February 2010)
I'd have thought that the Royal Mail should have either released what they could, or explained what it would be possible to release, rather than just applying the 'personal information' exemption to everything.
Aside from the question of whether or not they've applied the exemption correctly, it would appear to me that they may also be failing in their duty under the act to "provide advice and assistance" to those requesting information.
