Dear Mr Wren,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. I have detailed the
response below, incorporating answers within the body of the text.
Can you please tell me the current salary received by the new Deputy Chief
Executive, Graham Sims.
The exact amount that Mr Sims earns is his own personal data and exempt
information under S40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Although
the council aims to be transparent and accountable, we must protect the
rights of individuals in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. As
a result, this particular information has been withheld at this time.
However we are able to confirm that the post of Deputy Chief Executive
currently attracts a salary banding of £120,620 to £125,762.
Can you provide me with the current Job Description, Person Specification
and Terms and Conditions for the post.
I have attached the job description for the Deputy Chief Executive post,
however the terms and conditions of this post are confidential. The
contract terms and conditions of chief officers contain personal data, we
are therefore unable to disclose this information in accordance with
S40(2) Freedom of Information Act 2000. Although the council aims to be
transparent and accountable, we must protect the rights of individuals in
accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. As a result, this particular
information has been withheld at this time.
We do not hold a "person specification" for this post.
Can you provide me with information on the recent recruitment process for
the post. This might include information such as where the post was
advertised, how many people applied and how many applicants were
interviewed.
Expressions of interest were invited internally, and from partner
organisations across the Bristol area. As a result of this 5 candidates
expressed an interest. These candidates were a mix of internal and
external candidates. 4 candidates were invited for an informal interview
with the Chief Executive Officer and the Deputy Chief Executive. The post
was offered for 6 months, with an option to extend for another 6.
This response should answer your request in full, however if you are not
satisfied with this response or wish to lodge an appeal against any
exemptions that may have been applied, you can do so by writing to the
Data Protection Officer at Bristol City Council Legal Services, The
Council House, College Green, Bristol, or [1][Bristol City Council request email]. Details
of the complaints procedure can be found at
