Delay in making a decision re motorcycle parking
M Laurent made this Freedom of Information request to Westminster City Council
The request was successful.
From: M Laurent

Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to know the reason(s) why Councillor Chalkley has
delayed his decision about whether the motorcycle parking scheme is
to be made permanent or not.
The timetable in the link below used to advise that a decision
would be made by 7th August 2009, but now it says "August 2009
onwards".
http://www.westminster.gov.uk/services/t...
I would have preferred to send him an email directly to ask the
question, but I know from previous experience that I would never
receive a reply, hence the need for me to ask the question via the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Yours faithfully,
M Laurent

Dear MotorCycleParking,
Thank you for your response.
When you say "the report will be issued formally, which will put it
on formal deposit. If the proposal to make the scheme permanent is
agreed, its implementation will take place within 2 weeks", do you
mean that, should the decision be to make the motorcycle parking
tax permanent, it will be within 2 weeks from today, or do you mean
that the formal report will be issued within 2 weeks from today?
By the way, I am pleased to note that Mr Chalkley reacts much
quicker to Freedom of Information requests than emails or letters
sent to him, which he tends to ignore, based on prior experience.
Yours sincerely,
M Laurent

Dear Mr Laurent,
Motorcycle Parking Payment Scheme Report Pending
In order to clarify, the formal report has yet to be released; this will
happen in the next few days. It will then be put on public record for a
week, before any decision is made by the Cabinet Member. If the decision
is made to make it permanent, it would then be a further two weeks until
the permanent Traffic Management Order comes into force.
