Declarations of Personal Interests of Members of LBRuT Cabinet in proposed development of Twickenham Riverside, River Centre and Linked Sites Strategy

Teresa Read made this Freedom of Information request to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council

The request was successful.

From: Teresa Read

3 June 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

On 2 June 2009 it became publicly known that Cllr Denise Carr was
listed as an Individual Supporter in the River Centre Supporters
List www.rivercentre.org.uk/rcsupport0308.pdf. (March 2008). As a
LBRuT Cabinet Member Cllr Carr has taken part in decisions relating
to the River Centre, the enabling development on Twickenham
Riverside and housing associated with the “linked sites strategy”
(which allows for affordable housing in connection with the
Riverside development to be built offsite). Has Councillor Carr
declared a personal interest as a Listed Supporter of the River
Centre at Cabinet and other Council meetings? Additionally do any
other LBRuT Cabinet Members have personal interests in the River
Centre and/or any interest in works connected with the proposed
Twickenham Riverside development and Linked Sites Strategy? Are any
members of the Cabinet’s preferred development company or
architects or any other personnel connected with the proposed
development personally known to any Cabinet Members?

Yours faithfully,

Teresa Read

Dear Matthew Ginn,

I do not seem to have a full reply – please see the original
request. Cllr Denise Carr was listed as an Individual Supporter of
the River Centre in March 2008 - this is available on the Internet.
I also asked whether the architect was personally known to Cabinet
Members. The architect for the development company chosen by the
Cabinet was listed underneath Denise Carr as an Individual
Supporter of the River Centre - around a year before the Council
made their announcement. This has not been declared.

Yours sincerely,

Teresa Read
