Dear Ms Jago
Thank you for your request for information made under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.
I have been advised that KCC does not hold this information, therefore I
would suggest that you contact the Governing Body of a School as they are
ultimately the decision makers. The headteacher will make the decision
initially, but the parent can always complain to the governors if the
parent is unhappy with the decision. The school would need to have regard
to any disability the child may have and make reasonable adjustments to
accommodate their disability so as to enable the school to include the
child on the trip.
If you are unhappy with this response, and believe KCC has not complied
with legislation, please ask for a review by following our complaints
process; details can be found at this link
[1]http://www.kent.gov.uk/council-and-democ...
on our website. Please quote reference FOI/09/712.
If you still remain dissatisfied following an internal review, you can
appeal to the Information Commissioner, who oversees compliance with the
Freedom of Information Act 2000. Details of what you need to do, should
you wish to pursue this course of action, are available from the
Information Commissioner's website
