Phillip Main made this Freedom of Information request to Home Office

Home Office did not have the information requested.

From: Phillip Main

28 May 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

please supply dates of any meetings with the HOME OFFICE and Kip
Meek with any minutes or notes and details of those present at any
such meeting

for your information and clarification of my request

This Kip Meek

Kip is Non-Executive Chairman of the Broadband Stakeholder Group.
The BSG is the industry-government forum for tackling strategic
issues across the converging broadband value chain. As of 1st May
he is a full-time Board member of Ingenious Media Plc; he is also a
Non-Executive Board member of the RadioCentre and Phorm.

Kip was previously a board member at Ofcom, where he took a leading
role in developing Ofcom’s international strategy. He was also
Chairman of the European Regulators’ Group (ERG) and oversaw
Ofcom’s engagement with key European and international
decision-making bodies. This included Ofcom’s participation in the
review of the EU Television Without Frontiers Directive, the review
of the EU Telecommunications Framework and the international
Regional Radio Conference in 2006. He was also responsible for the
Ofcom Content & Standards Group and for Ofcom’s Legal Group.

Before joining Ofcom, Kip Meek was Managing Director of Spectrum
Strategy Consulting, and one of its two founders. His consulting
career focused on major decisions in the communications industry,
particularly those that involved integration of the media,
telecommunications and information sectors. Kip worked regularly in
Europe, Asia, North America and South America.

Prior to setting up Spectrum, he led the media and telecoms
strategy practice at Coopers & Lybrand in London and worked
previously for the Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co and
British Telecom.

Kip is Chairman of Ingenious Consulting Network. His role is to
develop the consulting and research businesses and to support
Ingenious's private equity and corporate finance capabilities. He
was previously an Executive Board member of the UK's media and
telecoms' regulator, Ofcom from its establishment in 2003 until
2007. Prior to Ofcom, Kip was a founding partner and Managing
Director of Spectrum Strategy Consultants. Alongside his role at
Ingenious, Kip is chairman of the Broadband Stakeholders Group and
a director of the Radio Centre.

A member of Phorm's board also works as a taxpayer-funded broker at
the heart of UK internet policy, in the very department tasked this
week with responding to European Commission demands to tighten
privacy laws.

Kip Meek defended his dual role today, insisting his job for the
Digital Britain review was completely separate to any dispute
between the UK government and Brussels.

Please supply
1. dates of all meetings between the Home Office or
it's officials and Mr. Kip Meek as described above, that is to
include meetings with Mr.Meek in ANY of his incarnations.

2. Any minutes or notes taken at such meetings. For the time period
1st jan 2006 and 23rd April 2009

Yours faithfully,

Phillip Main
