Dear Mr Main,
Thank you for your request for information for the dates of any meetings
between BERR and Lord Lamont of Lerwick within the period 1st Jan 2006 to
15th April 2009 along with details of all persons present at any such
meetings.
I regret that we cannot provide this information as the effort to
administer your request would exceed the limit prescribed by Section 12 of
the Freedom of Information Act. This is £600, which represents the
estimated cost of spending 24 hours in determining whether the Department
holds the information, and locating, retrieving and extracting the
information. Above this, we are not obliged to comply with a request.
Official's diaries are not held centrally, therefore to comply with your
request would require, at the minimum, each senior official, within the
various Management Units, carrying out a search of all their available
records, for the period in question, to ascertain if they had any
information within scope of the request. This we are satisfied would
exceed the cost threshold.
However, if you were able to revise your request it will be reconsidered.
When attempting to revise your request you should take into consideration
the length of timeframes, types of documents, or be specific to one area
or group of officials. This may help you revise your request within the
cost threshold. Although we are happy to consider any request further,
this is no guarantee that we will be able to comply.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me quoting the
reference number above.
Yours sincerely
