FOI 09/0543 - Phillip Main - Dates of meetings between BERR and Virgin
Media
Thank you for your FOI request dated 16 April 2009 asking for details of
meetings between BERR and Virgin Media within the period 1st Jan 2006 to
15th April 2009, along with details of those persons present.
As Virgin Media did not exist as an entity before February 2007 (it was
formed as a merger involving Virgin Mobile, ntl and Telewest Broadband), I
am only able to provide details of meetings after February 2007. (BERR
itself only dates from June 2007, however as it was formed from the old
Department for Trade and Industry (DTI) with much of the same core
functions I have included those meetings which occurred between February
and June 2007.)
I am afraid our computer system automatically deletes calendar details
after a certain time. I have used other sources to compile details of
meetings held in the period February 2007 - August 2007, although I am
aware that during this period there were one or two bilateral meetings
with VM as part of our relation management programme but no formal record
was kept.
The names of junior officials and staff from Virgin Media have been
withheld under Section 40 of the Act, personal information. Section 40 is
an absolute exemption and therefore requires no public interest test.
