Dear HM Revenue & Customs,
I'm told that for each tax dealt with by HM Revenue and Customs
there is a different database for managing the data involved with
that tax. I would like to request the database provider and the
version of that database software for each tax dealt with by HM
Revenue and Customs.
Yours faithfully,
Lisa Evans

Dear Tully, Eileen (IMS),
Thank you for your reply to my request for the suppliers of the
databases used to store government income. It seems my
understanding of the system is incorrect, and there isn't a
database for each tax type but rather a more complex system of
databases. It would be very useful if you could describe in more
detail the system used to store tax information -- for example:
- could you describe the systems used for storing and processing
income tax?
- could you describe the system for National Insurance
contributions?
Yours sincerely,
Lisa Evans

Dear Ms Evans
I am writing regarding your request for information, which I received on
29 March. In that request, you asked for
"- could you describe the systems used for storing and processing
income tax?
- could you describe the system for National Insurance
contributions?"
HMRC reasonably requires further information in order to identify and
locate the information that you have asked for. To enable us to progress
your request can you please explain or provide a definition of what you
means by "describe the systems used"?
I will not be able to take this matter further without extra information
from you.
I would appreciate if you could response by return as I am on Annual leave
from COP today until 12 April.
Thanks
