Charities are classified according to a self classification code that
charities complete on an annual basis. There are 201 charities on the
Central Register of Charities that have classified themselves
as children's homes.
The information you have requested concerning the number of children
accommodated in these homes is not recorded by this Department.
As you may be aware the regulation of children's homes is undertaken by
Ofsted, if you have not already done so you may wish to contact them at
