Cycling statistics on Oxford roads

Dear Mr Magee
 
Thank you for your request of 21 December 2009 in which you asked for the
following information:

1. The numbers of cyclists killed on Oxford's roads annually
between 2005 - 2009.

2. The numbers of cyclists seriously injured on Oxford's roads
annually between 2005 - 2009.

3. The amount of money annually invested in to cycling facilities
and schemes by Oxfordshire County Council between 2005 - 2009.

Your request is being considered and Oxfordshire County Council will
respond as soon as possible within the next 20 working days in compliance
with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This means that the council
will send a response to you by 21 January 2010.

 
There may be a fee payable for this information. You will be informed if
this is the case and you can decide if you wish to proceed with your

Taking each of your points in turn:

1. The numbers of cyclists killed on Oxford's roads annually between
2005 - 2009.
2. The numbers of cyclists seriously injured on Oxford's roads
annually between 2005 - 2009.

Please see the attached table. Please note this relates to accident
injuries as reported to the police. The council is aware that a number of
pedal cycle injuries (other than fatal injuries, which will always be
included) are not reported to the police.
