Dear Mark
Thank you for your Freedom of Information enquiry dated 10 August 2008 requesting 1) the names and terms of reference for all committees responsible for making decisions about the curriculum of the National School of Government (NSG), 2) a list of all meetings of these committees since the inception of the NSG, 3) agenda and minutes from two meetings from each of the committees in 1.
National School of Government courses are often developed as a consequence of discussions between the heads of defined business areas (for example, those concerned with professions development or strategic leadership) and relevant teaching staff. The design and delivery of training programmes is also influenced by close consultation with the organisation's departmental clients.
1) Although the National School does not have a curriculum committee, it has set up a group which seeks to develop new products and support ongoing innovation across the business.
The New Product Development Group (NPDG) is a working group of the Executive Committee (ExCom, responsible for the day-to-day management of the National School).
As requested, I have attached a copy of the NPDG's terms of reference.
2) A list of all NPDG meetings is attached.
3) Similarly, I have enclosed the agenda and minutes of two meetings of the group.
If you have any questions relating to this email, please do not hesitate to contact me.
