Dear Sir / Madam

Thank you for your recent request, submitted under the Freedom of
Information Act concerning the percentage of properties within the
borough of Rotherham. For your reference I can inform you that there
are 110,442 properties of which 25,290 properties receive varying levels
of Council Tax benefit. In addition to this there are also 41,297
properties that receive a discount (for example due to their only being
one householder) or are exempt from paying Council Tax. Therefore as a
percentage 40% of all properties pay the full Council Tax rate.

For your further reference I have provided a breakdown into a number of
areas as you have requested.

<<Picture (Metafile)>>

Please be aware however that some individuals / households may be double
counted in the statistics above given that a person may be in receipt of
benefits but also entitled to another discount, for example the single
persons discount rate of 25%. As an overall base however 25,290
properties of 110442 are in receipt of varying levels of benefit - which
equates to 23% of all households in the borough.

In closing I trust that you have found this information useful, and if
you have any queries then please feel free to contact me directly.
If you are not satisfied with this response you have the right to an
