Council Tax Banding and Yield

Mike Zeelie made this Freedom of Information request to South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council

The request was partially successful.

From: Mike Zeelie

5 January 2010

Dear Sir or Madam,

This is a request for information under the provisions of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The information requested relates to two Community Area Forum (CAF)
areas, namely Boldon, Cleadon & Whitburn and West Shields. If the
Council collates information by ward, the wards in question are
Cleadon and East Boldon and Whiteleas and Parkway. The information
should be drawn from the latest period for which figures are
available, OR from the financial year 2008-09, whichever is the
later. Where an 'average' statistic is requested, please express as
a modal average: in other words, the most frequently occurring
example in a particular category.

(1) What is the average Council Tax banding of the dwellings in
each CAF area/ward?

(2) What was the total Council Tax yield from each CAF area/ward in
the latest period for which figures are available?

(3) What percentage of the households in each CAF area/ward were in
receipt of Housing and Council Tax benefit in the latest period for
which figures are available?

Yours faithfully,

Mr. M.P. Zeelie
