Council Employees earning over £40,000 per year
Richard Evans made this Freedom of Information request to Conwy County Borough Council
The request was successful.
From: Richard Evans
14 August 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
Could you produce a list of all Conwy Council employees earning
over £40,000 per year? Obviously, I would not want the list to
contain their names; for each qualifying employee their job title
and salary would be acceptable.
Yours faithfully,
Richard Evans

Another 7 days? - That's an awful lot of collation - just how long does it take a council worker to use a stapler one wonders? (I use the term "worker" very loosely)

Dear Mr Evans, You should ask the Council for an internal review of their decision to break the Law by not answering your request in the timescale prescribed in the Freedom of Information Act.

Dear Mr Evans
Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay with your request. The information has now been collated however some elements still require further consideration in line with the Information Commissioners guidance (see link below) on the Data Protection issues involved in the disclosure of specific salaries relative to specific posts.

It is anticipated that information will be available shorty.

Interesting - so thats 186 snouts in troughs then, very deep troughs, obviously excluding head teachers who actually do something useful for society.
I'm sure all those people who can't afford to turn their heating on this winter will sleep much better knowing where the Council Tax they are being hounded for is going...
Richard Evans left an annotation (17 October 2009)
Thanks for the information. I have to say I find it disappointing that a proper breakdown of roles and salaries has not been provided, especially since the Council itself has stated there is a 'need for open and transparent government'.
Steve Hunt left an annotation ( 1 November 2009)
Remember this is the Council that uses rate-payers money to bribe people...
