Your request for information on the costs of redevelopment of Federation
Road multi-material recycling facility

We have now considered your request for information and a copy of the
information is below.

1. The construction costs for the redevelopment of this site carried out
in the last year.

The total cost of the Burslem site clearance/concrete
surfacing/foundations, sundries and lighting, lighting column re-location,
bays and covers and fees was £263,170.

The cost of redeveloping the Federation Road recycling facility was met in
full by a grant from DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural
Affairs).

2. The companies which tendered for this work and the name of the
successful bidder.

The work was undertaken by the City Council as an extension to the Hanford
Household Waste Site refurbishment. The City Council undertook this work
through their term contact for Civil Engineering works which at that time
was with Bardon Construction/ Kennedy Asphalt.

3. The costs of application for planning permission and an environmental
permit and the dates on which these were granted.

Planning fees £2,680

Environmental permit £4,625

Permit Date 19th February 2010

Planning Date 1st March 2010
