Cost of the due diligence for the student information system procurement

Re: request for information under The Freedom of Information Act.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the Act states that an enquirer is entitled:

* To be told whether the information which they are requesting exists, and if it does
* Receive a copy of that data unless one of the limited exemptions under the Act applies.

In response to your request for information which was received on 14 December 2009. In addition I have considered what is meant in your request by the expression "Student Information System. I note that in a reply to the University of Bristol on 18 December 2009 you clarified this as meaning a system that maintains and manages student data. The University of Birmingham confirms that it has not procured a Student Information System in the last 7 years, therefore the remainder of your request does not apply.

If you are unhappy with the manner in which your request has been dealt with, you may ask for an internal review. A copy of the Complaints and Appeals procedure can be found at: http://www.legalservices.bham.ac.uk/foi/... . If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have a right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
