financial or calendar year 2008 at Islington Borough Council.

b) the proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (a) spent
on licenses or other fees to Ordnance Survey;

c) the proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (a) which
was paid for by council tax;

d) the proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (c) broken
down in to council tax house bands on a per-household basis.

In my Freedom of Information Act request reference number 184285,
relating to 'cost of maps and license fees to Ordnance Survey' I
asked for the amounts during either financial or calendar year
2008.

I should have asked for the year 2006 (to allow us to carry out a
compartive study with other local councils) although more recent
figures would also be of interest.

I hope this clarifies my request, because I realise you probably
don't have the figures for all of 2008 yet. Perhaps this explains
why you have to responded within 20 days.

Please can you tell me the total spent on maps, map procurement,
processing and distribution on-line and in paper form during either
financial or calendar year *2006* at Islington Borough Council.

And the proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (a) spent
on licenses or other fees to Ordnance Survey

Thank you for your request for information which was received on 29 April 2008. I apologise for the delay in responding to your request.

In response you asked for the following information:

"a) The sum in total, if any, spent on maps, map procurement, processing and distribution on-line and in paper form during either

financial or calendar year 2008 at Islington Borough Council.

b) the proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (a) spent on licenses or other fees to Ordnance Survey;

c) the proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (a) which was paid for by council tax;

d) the proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (c) broken down in to council tax house bands on a per-household basis.

I can confirm the following information in relation to your request:

a) I am unable to supply a total sum amount spent on maps, map procurement, processing and distribution on-line and in paper form during either financial or calendar year 2008 at Islington Borough Council as this information cannot be easily derived by the Council from raw data. Therefore the information requested would need to be created.

b) The proportion or absolute amount, if any, of the sum (a) spent on licenses or other fees to Ordnance Survey is £25,0069.89.

In response to questions c) and d) this expenditure is not funded from a specific income source, just generally from a combination of central government grant and council tax. It is not possible to say how much is paid for by council tax.
