Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to know the overall cost each year
of producing and distributing the seasonal "Fareham Today"
magazine. What is the cost to taxpayers of the magazine compared to
money from advertising in it.
Also has any research been done by the council/publishers into how
many people living in Fareham read or support the continued
creation of the magazine.

Dear Mr Wright,
Fareham Today is distributed direct to just under 49,000 households across
the whole of the Borough.
It costs £9,287.31 for each issue (this year's expenditure).
The cost per household for each issue is just under 19p - so per annum is
76p.
In 2007/08 we generated some £2,000 in income. We have already generated
£3,500 in income this financial year - since April 08.
In the Government's Best Value Survey of autumn 2006, some 49% of those
responding stated that they use Fareham Today as their main source of
information about the council.
