Dear Mr Fuller,

Thank you for your information request of 24 June 2010, made under the
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA). Aberdeen City
Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested.

Please provide a list by councillor of cost to Aberdeen Council for
employee and employer contributions to Local Government Pension Scheme
(or Aberdeen Council equivalent) Please also provide details of accrued
liabilities relating to all Aberdeen Councillors who are current or past
members of Aberdeen pension scheme.

Pension costs are not broken down into categories of staff and within
the accounts there is a summary of the overall contributions made by the
Council and actuaries valuation of the share of liabilities and assets
that are attributable to Aberdeen City Council.

These figures are already published in our accounts and are on our
website at the following link:
http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/nmsruntim...

Please see attached Section 25 - Information Otherwise Accessible.

Information that is relevant is included in Note 11 to the Income and
Expenditure Account (page 22 of the document) and also Note 17 to the
Balance Sheet (pages 43 to 46 of the document)

We are unable to provide you with information on a list by Councillors
as it is exempt from disclosure. In order to comply with its obligations
under the terms of section 16 of the FOISA the Council must issue
official refusal notices in relation to any requests for which it is
claiming an exemption under the FOISA. I therefore attach a refusal
notice which specifically refuses your request under the terms of
Section 38(1)(b) - Personal Information and Section 25(1) - Information
Otherwise Accessible of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

We hope this helps with your request.

Yours sincerely,

Jean Reid
FOI Compliance Assistant
