Dear Sir or Madam,
Can you please detail, for each year since your public website was
launched, how much money has been spent on creating, developing,
and running it.
Where possible, please break these costs out by function (for
example, development, design, updates, changes, hosting,
co-location, domain registration, licensing etc). Where the costs
have been incurred with external providers, please list the company
in question. For internal staff time, if this is not recorded
and/or charged explicitly, please provide estimates based on
salary/overheads of people involved.
Yours faithfully,
Nick

Hi Pauline,
Thanks for the response. If there's an alternative format that
would give me most of the information in an easier manner for you,
go ahead with that, and I can always come back with any follow-up
questions.
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Pauline,
Your ref: FOI 07/08/67
Thanks for this information.
A few follow-ons:
1) This doesn't seem to include details of to whom these invoices
were paid. Was this just an oversight, or have you deliberately
withheld this information?
2) There is no mention of charges for domain registration. Is this
included in the costs for "hosting", or some other item? If so, are
you able to break that out separately - perhaps from an invoice
line item, or a contract, or correspondence with the supplier?
3) For the last two years there has been a substantial "support"
charge that wasn't applied in previous years. Can you provide more
information on what is included in this, and why it is new?
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick
Apologies.
Item 1 - yes, this was an oversight! The company all invoices have been paid to is Worldsites, 10 Ballyversal Road, Coleraine, BT52 2ND.
Item 2 - we pay another company for domain registration - Corpex Limited
19/12/2005 Ukerna Domain Name Renewal for Ballymoney.gov.uk 25/10/2005 - 24/10/2007 £60 + £10.50 VAT
18/07/2007 Ukerna Domain Name Renewal for Ballymoney.gov.uk 25/10/2007 - 24/10/2009 £60 + £10.50 VAT
Item 3 - the new support charge is because as the website has developed we identified a need to have the company do regular updating and maintenance on the site that we do not have the technical ability/expertise to do in house. We are provided with a monthly summary of work done under support package.
If you have further queries please contact me directly on [email address]
Regards,
Pauline
