Dear Sir or Madam,
Please can you detail the total cost of the governments attempt to
introduce ID cards.
I am most interested in the head line figure, but the more detail
that can be provided on where and when the costs were incurred the
better. (i.e. if ID cards had never been proposed vs what the
taxpayer has financed to date, also the rising cost each time the
government made another statement
in support of id cards against public opinion)
Also, can you tell me of any work that has gone into reviewing past
statements made in by the government regarding ID Cards, and any
work that has gone into preparing responses should any past
statements be raised in questioning the new home secretary.
Yours faithfully,
Paul Perri

Hi Hazel,
Sorry - there was no acknowledgement attached to your email!
I think the email is enough to acknowledge receipt, but if there is
an official form, you need to send - you'll need to try again.
Cheers
Paul
