Dear Sir or Madam,
I have read that the EU have recently abandoned restrictions on the
sale of food not meeting standards set by the EU
From the BBC News site: "Marketing standards for 26 types of
produce that prevent oddly-sized or misshapen fruit and vegetables
being sold in Europe are being scrapped"
I would like to know what the cost of these standards has been to
the UK while they were in operation also the quantity of food that
was produced but rejected as not meeting the standards.
Can you tell me if you hold any information, or know of any
information held elsewhere, that could assist me in finding answers
to these questions?
Yours faithfully,
Paul Perrin
