Cost and contracts for my.cleveland crime map
Julian Todd made this Freedom of Information request to Cleveland Police
The request was successful.
From: Julian Todd
23 November 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
I have inspected the crime mapping service available from the
Cleveland Police website at:
http://my.cleveland.police.uk
and can find no reference to who made it, when it was built, and
how it is maintained. Within the javascript code I can only find
the name Peter Goulborn.
I am assuming that this site was build by an outside contractor,
rather than the police force itself.
Please may I be sent:
* the names and dates of the contractors/consultants who developed
and maintain the my.cleveland.police.uk crime map
* costs incurred by these contractors related to building and
maintaining the site.
* copies of the contracts and agreements signed with these where
the website features
You do not need to know the reason for my request, but I am happy
to explain it. By commissioning a wide variety of distinct crime
maps, the police forces across the country have inadvertently
collaborated in a controlled user experiment that should make it
possible to rate the features and technologies of the different
implementations.
Yours faithfully,
Julian Todd
