Dear Mr Todd
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request of 23 November 2009.
I can provide the following information:
* the names and dates of the contractors/consultants who developed and
maintain the beatcrime.info crime map since 2005
Northgate Information Solutions. 2004-2005
* costs incurred by these contractors related to building and maintaining
the site.
Initial consultancy cost of £12,935.58. On-going development and
maintenance has been undertaken in-house by a 3 person team within West
Yorkshire Police. On-going costs are negligible - the update of the
system is automatic.
* copies of the contracts signed with these suppliers.
The Police Authority does not hold this information - no contracts are held
on file.
I am attaching a copy of an article on crime mapping, which was written by
Fraser Sampson and Fiona Kinnear and published in July 09. which you may
find of interest.
If you are dissatisfied with the way in which your request has been handled
you may appeal by writing to the Chief Executive as detailed in the
attached appeals procedure.
Regards
Julie Reid
