Dear IIene
Thank you for your email. As the Home Office guidelines state, all
convictions must be declared and any holder of the office of
constable, must disclose any convictions and charges, wither the
matter calls at court or bound over etc.
I am therefore looking for the information, which your force has a
legal duty and requirement to hold centrally. This would cover all
current police officers.
I have contacted the Home Secretary as this matter is causing
confusion amoung police forces. The guidelines state that the
information must be held and updated regularly. Check the
Strathclyde police disclosure for further details.
Yours Aye
Lord McDowall
