Contracted legal advice and Weightman's solicitors

Dear Lancashire Police Authority,

I make this request under the Freedom of Information Act. I am
interested in legal advice paid for by the Authority separately
from legal servies paid for via tender from Preston Council
(monitoring officer and legal services). In the first instance
please supply the contract or internal information related to full
services provided by Preston Council and the annual cost of that
contract. In addition:

1/ Please supply all information as to any payments made to
Weightman's LLP by Lancashire Police Authority for any purpose in
the years 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12.

2/ Please indicate the purpose of any payments made in 1/ above.

3/ Please provide information as to any contractual or other
arrangements as regards the receipt of legal advice/service with
Weightman's solicitors in the following years 2007/08, 2008/09,
2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12.

4/ Please provide all detail of any employee of Weightman's
solicitors that attended upon the Lancashire Police Authority at
any time in 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12. Please
note that I don't require any personal information if that would be
a problem.

5/ Please provide the purpose of any attendance or visit as
indicated in 4/ above.

6/ How long has the Lancashire Police Authority taken legal
services from Weightmans solicitors?

7/ How much in total has the Lancashire Police Authority paid to
Weightman's solicitors as a full aggregate in the 5 years as
indicated above.

If any clarification is required please feel free to request this
at any time via this site.

Dear Lancashire Police Authority,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Lancashire Police
Authority's handling of my FOI request 'Contracted legal advice and
Weightman's solicitors'.

I am confused as to why so much public money is spent on Weightmans
at such time as you have a contract for "legal advice" etc from
Preston City Council. This contract costs over £20,000 per year.
Please also supply some explanation of the headings in the
spreadsheets during a full review of this request.
