Contract with TSO for print Acts of Parliament
A Freedom of Information request to House of Commons by Julian Todd
House of Commons did not have the information requested.

Dear Sir or Madam,
According to a vote in the Commons in November 1999, Acts of
Parliament have continued to this day to be printed in duplicate on
vellum. I understand from a request made to the House of Lords that
this is undertaken by TSO.
Can I see a copy of the contract signed with TSO which obliges them
to print Acts of Parliament on vellum (including stipulations of
quality, size of typeface, source for the material, etc), and any
estimates for charges made for this service?
Yours faithfully,
Julian Todd.

FOICOMMONS
House of Commons

Dear Mr Todd
The House of Commons does not hold this information. Acts of Parliament
are produced under the authority of the 'Queen's Printer of Acts' who is
Carol Tullo, the Chief Executive of Office of Public Sector Information
( OPSI, formerly HMSO) and any contract is between her and TSO, not the
House of Commons. I understand that the printing of record (vellum)
copies of Acts is undertaken by TSO under arrangements made by the Clerk
of the Parliaments. You might consider submitting your request to
OPSI
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/conta...
d=14&action=1
(OPSI are part of National archives and use their system for
registering requests)
Or
House of Lords
[email address]
You may, if dissatisfied with the treatment of your request, ask the
House of Commons to conduct an internal review of this decision.
Requests for internal review should be addressed to: Freedom of
Information Officer, Department of Finance and Administration, House of
Commons London SW1 OAA or [House of Commons request email]. If you remain
dissatisfied, you may appeal to the Information Commissioner at Wycliffe
House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Yours sincerely
Bob Castle
